Agnes Water / Town of 1770
Agnes Water is somewhere my family fell in love with two decades ago, and it has many fans. Here are a few Youtube videos created by visitors to Agnes Water / Town of 1770 that showcase just some of the attractions of this area. Yellow Cottage itself has something unique to offer within this special area - it is a place of charm, privacy and access to all of the local attractions. Or just be by yourself. You get the whole of Yellow cottage to yourself when you book.
Agnes Water / Seventeen Seventy attractions include:
- Beaches (surfing and lazing around)
- Snorkelling and diving
- 4-wheel-driving (offroading)
- Lady Musgrave Island (southernpost point of the Great Barrier Reef)
- Reedy Creek Paperbark Forest trail
- Surfing (Agnes Water Point Break)
- Canoeing and paddleboarding
- Horse riding
You can walk in the steps of James Cook himself,, on a scenic walking trail that will lead you along the same very steps paved by Cook himself. The trail will lead you along the foreshore to the historical Captain Cook Monument.

For RVS and Grey Nomads:
Yellow Cottage has plenty of high-roof parking and a communal outdoor dining area (under cover) with a barbecue.
A dump point is located at the 1770 SES Ground.
Water is available at the showgrounds as well. There is a tap next to the toilet block - you will need a big hose to fill up. Yellow Cottage is on tank water and septic so you cannot dispose of waste or fill up on the property, but the 1770 SES Ground is just a few minutes' down the road.
Markets in Agnes Water
There are two markets in Agnes Water / 1770. The Discovery Coast Markets are held at the SES Grounds on the second and fourth Sunday of each month, and every Sunday during Queensland school holidays. Arts, crafts, produce and food.
